The Starbak V3 system not only includes the rich video portal that offers organizations the ability to view, manage and share their video assets. It also provides the products necessary to capture live and on-demand streaming content, or import existing content into the system.

Whether distributing video-based training programs to geographically dispersed employees, or capturing a live CEO broadcast for distribution to an audience of thousands, Starbak V3 provides seamless, easy-to-follow workflows that guide the user through the process of capturing video for distribution.
The Starbak Encoder ensures that video is converted to Microsoft Windows Media format to ensure high quality, bandwidth friendly, end-to-end video distribution in the V3 system. The Starbak patented technology that is contained in the Starbak Conference Engine allows the customer’s standard, IP-based videoconferencing endpoints to act as “streaming studios” for capturing live and on-demand video programs. With the Starbak Encoder and Starbak Conference Engine fully integrated in the V3 system, any user is just a few clicks away from creating high quality live and on-demand video programs.
Starbak Encoder
The Starbak Encoder converts all video into standard Microsoft Windows Media format to ensure high quality, bandwidth friendly viewing and distribution through the V3 portal. The Starbak Encoder operates behind the scenes, completely accessible by users and administrators through the rich, browser-based V3 portal. This device connects directly to any video source (DVD, VCR, camera, etc.) to capture analog video assets and convert them to digital Microsoft Windows Media format. The Starbak Encoder can also compress MPEG-1, MP3 and AVI formats into smaller, more efficient Microsoft Windows Media files.
When used in deployments with the Starbak Conference Engine, the Starbak Encoder can convert native H.323 video conference feeds into Microsoft Windows Media streams. The encoder is available as a rack-mounted device, or as an office appliance that can be located in a conference room, video editing studio, or other origination point. If the customer prefers, the Starbak Encoder can be purchased as software-only and loaded on the customer’s server of choice.
The Starbak Conference Engine
The Starbak Conference Engine is an optional device to the V3 system. Designed for organizations that are already using videoconferencing, this product allows standard, IP-based videoconferencing endpoints to be used as capture points for creating live and on-demand streaming programs. In addition, the patented Starbak Conference Engine allows video to be synchronized with the user’s Powerpoint slides at the point of capture, and delivered as a multimedia presentation. When the videoconferencing endpoint is equipped with H.239 data-sharing capability, the Starbak Conference Engine allows desktop applications to be captured along with the video, and delivered as a synchronized presentation.
The Starbak Conference Engine is a powerful solution that allows organizations to transform their videoconferencing meeting rooms into instant video webcasting and on-demand publishing “studios”. In addition, this product can be used to webcast live meetings while making an online video archive of the meeting available for replay at a later date, to any number of remote locations and viewers.
The Starbak Conference Engine is available as a rack-mounted server, or as an office appliance that can be located in a conference room or near to the videoconferencing endpoint.
